The Importance of Cleanliness

Visiting a day spa is a healthy and relaxing way to spend a day, but it's important to choose the right spa to avoid unpleasant side effects. Spa cleanliness is an important but often underrated trait in spas. Spa treatments are only good for you if the spa is clean, because a dirty spa can spread germs from one client to the next. The warm spa environment offers a good place for bacteria to grow, but the large supply of soap and other antibacterial tools available in most spas makes it easy to prevent that growth in any spa that takes the time to maintain good practices.  A dirty spa indicates more than a simple risk to your health. The vast majority of cities and states have clear regulations that require spas to stay clean and safe at all times, and any spa that fails to meet those basic requirements is likely to cut corners in other parts of their business. Their spa treatments might use questionable products to save money, and their staff might not know how to properly perform most of the procedures that they offer. It can be hard to judge the quality of a spa's services without experiencing them, but it's easy to see if a spa is dirty, and you can use that as a way to pick out the good spas from the bad ones.   Spa cleanliness is easy to judge before you even set foot in the building. Almost every day spa will have plenty of reviews available on the Internet, and those reviews will almost always mention problems with the spa environment. People who have a bad experience with a spa are more likely to offer a review than ones who had a pleasant time, so it's useful to remember that even though bad reviews are a good indicator of problems, a lack of good reviews might not be.
