Mental Health Challenges During COVID-19

Posted: April 6th, 2020

Health and wellness, specifically mental health, can be difficult to maintain during the COVID-19 pandemic. It is a stressful time as people deal with different forms of losses throughout the course of the last couple of months and it means everyone is at home until further notice. Luckily, even if you're "stuck" at home, you're not really stuck at all.   This gives you a chance to take care of your mental health and work on coping mechanisms for the duration of this pandemic. Help make yourself feel better by doing DIY spa treatments. Facials are made by the ingredients in your home: get some honey and do a full face mask with it. Your skin will be hydrated and glowing from this facial in only 20 minutes!  Give yourself the manicure you've been wanting at the salon by using a buffer for your nails and painting on a beautiful color. Do the same with a pedicure! Soak your feet in a bathtub full of warm water, use a scrub, and rinse off. Then, paint your toenails to match your fingernails! These spa treatments can distract from what is happening now, and that isn't a bad thing.   If you are someone with depression, try and have a set schedule where you sleep a full eight hours and wake up at a reasonable time, before 9 a.m., and then get your day started. Have breakfast, clean the house, do whatever you need to do. Being in a routine can help your mental health immensely and give you a sense of comfort until this ends, which it will.   But in the meantime, keep yourself busy with tasks and when you have run out, relax, stay safe, and do these spa treatments at home!
