Dark circles, also known as raccoon eyes, are a problem for many people. The skin under the eyes is extremely thin. Because of this, it is naturally likely to have a blue or gray tint from the veins underneath the skin.

Dark circles can be caused by dehydration, fatigue, fluid retention, anemia, nasal congestion, pigment disorders, sun exposure or thinning skin. People are often trying to get rid of dark circles as it makes the face appear older. There are a few at home remedies that will help with the appearance of dark circles. Putting cucumbers on the eyes or using creams containing vitamins C, K, E or retinol can minimize darkness. The best way to get rid of dark circles is to visit your local spa. They can do various treatments such as facials to significantly diminish dark circles. Some people are lucky and do not have any dark circles. To prevent dark circles, people should try to have an adequate fluid intake, avoid smoking, avoid excess salt, limit sun exposure and eat foods rich in Vitamin C.
