Having the Makeup Talk!

Skin care, daily skin care regimen, facial, healthy skin, spa treatment, day spa, facial, makeup usageHave you ever gone to a day spa or department store makeup counter for a makeover?  It’s really a good thing to try sometime.  I remember the first time I went to the Clinique counter in Macy’s for my first makeover.  It all started because I needed some pampering and a change to give me a lift.  I had a very nice conversation with the facial technician who pointed out my skin tone and type of skin, as well what colors would go nicely with my complexion. It truly was very enlightening and helpful.

Makeup technicians, also called makeup artists, specialize in the application of makeup to enhance, improve or even change a person’s facial appearance. Their services are used by many, including brides, models, actors and other performing artists. This type of career requires formal training from a beauty school or junior college. A license is only required if they perform cosmetology procedures like hair styling or manicures in addition to applying makeup.

It’s very important to have a discussion with the technician before you have a facial and/or makeup usage.  You might be allergic to certain ingredients in the makeup or have sensitive skin for some chemicals. Cost is also an issue for some, so better to discuss price options on services.

Many clients are interested in permanent makeup these days.  Plucking and tweezing eyebrows for years has left the eyebrow area baron and sparse. Permanent eyebrow makeup is a perfect solution for someone who doesn’t want to be bothered with eyebrow pencil any longer. Permanent makeup is also used for eyeliner and for lips. Permanent makeup, also known as micro pigmentation or cosmetic tattooing, eliminates the daily hassle of applying makeup. It never runs or smears, and is great for people with allergies to regular makeup. People, who have a difficult time applying makeup, find this option beneficial for them.
